GCSE ICT Companion 04 Making Student CDs |
The GCSE ICT Companion 04 CD may be copied to allow students to use it at home. However, you will probably not want to simply duplicate the installation CD as it contains the answers to the worksheets that you will probably not want students to have.
Follow the instructions below to create a copy of the CD that does not contain the answers:
| 1.
Go to the Start Menu and choose Programs then select the Windows Explorer icon. 2.  | Scroll down the list in the left hand window until you find your CD drive and then click on the icon for the CD drive. It should look similar to this, but the drive letter (e.g. E:) may be different :
3.  | The right hand window will
now display the files and folders that are stored on the CD. Click once on the ict4
folder to select it. Do not click twice to open it.
|
4.  | Go to the Edit menu and choose the Copy option. 5.  | Now you need to select a folder on your hard disk where you will temporarily place a copy of the ICT Companion that will be used for duplication. 6.  | Once you have selected a place to on you hard drive to store a temporary copy of the ICT Companion go to the Edit menu and choose the Paste option. The ICT Companion will now be copied from the CD onto the hard drive. 7.  | Delete the following files and directories from within the ict4 directory on the hard drive to remove the answers :
