• Check that the computers that you intend to use the ICT Companion on meet the minimum system requirements.

Methods of installation and use vary slightly depending on what type of computer and which web browser you are using. Setup instructions are provided here for most common computer systems / browsers.

If you do not currently have a web browser then you can obtain one by visiting www.microsoft.com or www.netscape.com on the Internet. To use all of the features of the ICT Companion, the browser must be version 4.0 or later. Alternatively most computer magazines include at least one web browser on their cover CDs which you can install.

The GCSE ICT Companion 04 can be used direct from CD, from a local hard disk, from a file server or web server. Once set up the ICT Companion can be used as if it were a web site on the Internet.
