Output Devices : Non-Impact Printers

Unlike impact printers, non-impact printers do not produce output by hammering pins or characters against the paper. Because there is no hammering action non-impact printers are very quiet but can not print multiple copies at the same time using carbon paper.

There are three different types of non-impact printer. Each produces its output in a different way. The three types of impact printer are :

Laser
Ink Jet
Thermal
