You will need to make several decisions when you design a control system. Exactly which
items you need to specify will depend upon the particular system. Possibilities include :
1. | What
sensors and devices the system will
use.
| 2. | Where the sensors and
devices will be located and how they will be connected to the
computer.
| 3. | What
algorithm will be used to operate the system. This involves
describing how the computer will decide when the devices should be turned on and off
based on the inputs from the sensors. This algorithm could be described using a
flowchart.

If you are asked to design a control system for a project you must also justify why you have designed the system the
way you have.
